BUZZ Big Brew @ Triptych BC Jan. '16

BUZZ Big Brewers All-
On Saturday, Jan. 2 beginning at 0830, BUZZ will assist Triptych Brewing Co. in brewing a Rye Wine style Strong Ale.
This is a fun day of learning for BUZZ members of all skill levels!
Triptych will provide each BUZZ brewer with all session attendance an opportunity to share in 5g. of Rye Wine wort to take home to ferment. (If you are not able to attend all day, please come and check the process as your time allows.)
Brewers planning on taking some wort from the session, please bring a sanitized carbuoy ( and airlock )to capture your wort. Provide your own choice of yeast to ferment at home. ( US-05 or Nottingham simple choices )
We will break for lunch, please bring a little lunch $.

OG: 1.108

59% Golden Promise
25% Rye Malt
10% Crystal Rye (60L+70L)
6% Dark Candi Syrup (80L)

Some American hops, 75+ IBUs

And a reminder, if you have a somewhat portable burner/kettle, it should be pretty easy to make a second runnings beer... add some DME and maybe you have some sort of Roggenbier or Rye IPA, etc.

BUZZ Big Brewers All-
I'm considering a second runnings beer, wx permitting.
I'm bringing some wheat DME and following the Roggenbier path.
I will have a portable burner and an immersion chiller on site.
If you would like to create a second runnings beer, you may use this equipment when I'm finished.

If this sounds like something you may be interested in doing, pls reply to this sub-post.

I plan to show up early to help get things started. Probably won't stay the whole time and won't take anything away (unless I have to ).

I should be there with a friend. Will probably just take one fermenter though. Maybe jump in on the paartygylle.

Greg, I'd be interested in a second running. Also I can bring my burner & brew pot. I'm assuming that the 2nd runnings will be via subsequent rinsing of the mash. I guess I should also have some Hops handy. What would you recommend for a smaller beer.
